I saw this on Oh Happy Day awhile ago and now I've decided I want one. So, who wants to try to convince Matt to spend $22 on a toy for Maddy?

I'll just add it to my list of things to do ...

Seeing things like this makes me want to learn to sew. Like, really learn to sew. Not start something, have it sit there for a year and then have my mom finish it.

me & Martha

For my lunch break today, I headed down to Michael's to kill a little time. I ended up stocking up on some cute ribbon, but the highlight was seeing the Martha Stewart craft line in person. I wish I had hundreds of dollars to spend on everything. It was so, so pretty and inspiring. Here are a few of my favorites.

The website even has a list of different projects you can do with the products. I think I'll just have to settle for duplicating some of these with my own (cheaper) supplies.

October Love: Coats

It still gets up into the 80s here during the day, but that can't keep me from my obsession with winter coats. There are so many cute ones this season and I wish I could justify buying them all!

Weekend Roundup

Friday: Matt and I went to Six Flags (sorry, Dude!) with our friends Erin & Kyle. Kyle's company rented out the park, so we got in free and had our choice of lots of company-specific snacks placed strategically throughout the park. You can't beat walking off a ride and grabbing a (free) bottle of water out of a huge tub of ice. We also had vouchers for anything in the park. We rode a few rides, ate (free) food, hung out with good friends and ended the night with a funnel cake. Awesome.

Saturday: We were homebound for most of the day, as some of our furniture was delivered. For some reason, Saturday delivery means they won't give you a time windoe, they just expect you to be home from 7am until 10pm. Yikes. Matt and I took advantage of that time to unpack a little, set up our new TV, and relax at home. All our furniture made it safe and sound, and we love what we've gotten so far. We watched the BYU game that afternoon {we got hosed on the officiating, although it took us an entire HALF to decide that we wanted to play!} on our nice new TV and then called it a night.

Sunday: It was a pretty normal Sunday. It was our second time to our new ward, and I think I might SLOWLY be learning a few people's names! I'm so bad at meeting people as it is, but our ward has like 400 people in it, too, which makes it even worse. It's fun having a few good friends in the ward already so I don't have to worry about sitting alone for the most part! After church, we had Travis and family over for dinner. It went well, except for the part where I burned my arm pretty bad while taking dessert out of the oven. Dumb, Mandy.

Gimme gimme gimme

I seem to want so many things these days. I'm going to chalk it up to buying a house and wanting to furnish it and then wanting to have cute things to put in it (or wear in it). Sigh.

I wish.

A friend from church took her family (2 adults, 4 kids) to the Dominican Republic last week and stayed in an all-inclusive Wyndham Resort for 4 days, 3 nights for a total of $530. I think I know where our next vacation is going to be. {Sadly, Matt and I don't get flight benefits like my friend, so we'll have to pay for airfare.} Who wants to come?

what's sprouting?

My new favorite store, Sprouts, just opened in Southlake. I dragged Matt there about a week ago and stocked up on (cheap!) fruits, veggies and other yummy stuff. I've happily been munching on strawberries, blueberries, peaches, raw almonds, turkish apricots, banana chips, whipped honey, tomatoes, zucchini and corn since then. They have everything fresh and in season, which makes it extra good and cheap. They've also got an amazing bulk foods section where you can buy everything from fifty varieties of grains to trail mix to treats. The store won't be far from our (maybe, cross your fingers!) house, so I could feasibly make a trip there every week to take advantage of the specials. Hooray.

With Matt and I (hopefully) buying a house soon, I have started looking for furniture. We took the cheap furniture approach when we got married, since we knew we'd be moving within a year and would want to furnish our new home with nice pieces that complimented the layout. This is the first piece I've found that I really like. It seems to be pretty classic and not too girly or too masculine. My parents ended up using their first bedroom set for, oh, thirty years, so I wanted something that could age with us and take on a completely different feel, depending on the linens and accessories. What do you think?

illuminate me

I really, really want this. I saw in online and thought it was pretty cute, but then I saw it in the store and fell in love. I think it would look great in the entryway or dining room of our new house {if we ever find one!}. Cross your fingers that it goes on clearance for me! What do you think?
