We had a busy weekend. Friday night, Jen and Shayne came over for dinner. It's always fun to sit and chat with them and see the funny things their kids do. I love living so close to them! I don't think I was meant to wake up in the 5's ever, so by the time Friday night rolls around, I'm beat. I go to bed earlier on Fridays than any other night all week. This one was no different.
Saturday, we got up semi-early and headed to Lowe's to get some supplies for a few house projects. We replaced all the fixtures in our bathroom from the ugly builder-supplied ones. I love the way the new ones look. We also threw in some lawn care and house cleaning for good measure. Instead of going to the actual airshow, we decided to find a high spot where we could just watch the Blue Angels. We headed over to Cabela's with Jen & Shayne and found a perfect spot. We got to see the show but avoided the crowds, traffic and overpriced souvenirs. We ended up getting a quick Pizza Hut dinner with the Hatches and then headed home. I had grand intentions of doing a little painting, but something got in the way. That something was Twilight. I know I'm late in starting the trilogy, but I'm making up for it as fast as I can. I read the whole book in one sitting - about 4 hours. It was a quick, fun read. I can't wait to read the next two!
Sunday was fairly typical. Matt made me breakfast, because he's the best husband ever. After church, we drove to a nearby neighborhood to watch the Blue Angels again. This time was even better because all six jets were flying. On Saturday, one of them had a problem, so we missed the part where two of the jets would fly straight at each other and turn to the side at the last second to avoid colliding. It was awesome. We finished out the night with San Francisco melts, Matt thrashing me in Phase 10, and baking some tasty zucchini bread for Monday's breakfast.
What did you do this weekend?

I discovered today you can buy the hardback trilogy of Twilight at Costco as of November 1. I want that. Almost as much as I want to marry Edward Cullen.
