Weekend Roundup

We had another great weekend! It was mostly low-key, which is my favorite kind of weekend. On Friday night, I tried out a new recipe (success!) and worked on Matt's car. I don't really want to talk about it, but changing out a door handle on a Camry is WAY more work than you'd originally think.

Saturday, we headed over to IKEA to do a little damage to our house budget. We picked up a few odds and ends and the shelves we needed to make our very own entertainment center. We debated for weeks on what to do in our family room and decided to go for something inexpensive that can be used in other rooms in future houses. We came home and set it up and we love how it turned out. {Pictures will be coming soon-ish.} It was also our ANNIVERSARY so we went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory (yum) and then rented a movie to watch while eating a stowaway piece of Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple Cheesecake. We hardly ever actually sit down and watch a whole movie in one sitting these days, so it was a nice treat. My cute husband gave me this bracelet (in silver) and I gave him an oh-so-romantic dutch oven. I've already expounded on the virtues of my husband on this blog, but I just have to say he's the best husband ever and I'm one lucky girl.

Sunday was a normal Sunday. After church, we ate a quick lunch of leftovers and relaxed. I tried another new recipe that I can see becoming a favorite. We ended up watching a bit of the Emmy's and then heading to bed early to get ready for our busy week. How was your weekend?
