It's been over a month since I've blogged anything of note, but not because I haven't had anything going on. I thought I should start at the beginning of my fun events ... Indianapolis.
My awesome company flew us up for the Colts MNF game against the Steelers. We breezed on up to Indy, ate lunch, had a few meetings, ate some dinner, hung out at a Martini Bar, walked to the game (do you see our view???), went to the Touchdown Club (ate some more) and general merriment ensued. Everyone had lots to drink (my drink of choice? Diet Coke, because you apparently can't get DP anywhere in that blasted state), cheered, and even reunited Tony and Kevin with their long-lost IU QB. The guy totally thought he was a celebrity. The Colts blew out the Steelers. Good times. And now for my favorite story of the trip:
A local bank hires this one guy to wear bank-logo-emblazoned boxer shorts, paint his entire body blue and walk around the game. We first saw him at the Touchdown Club. People were going up to him, asking for his autograph and taking pictures with him. I wanted to get in on that, so Laura and I tracked him down. I got my picture taken with him and his son, who he's apparently grooming to take over for the underwear-only-in-30-degree-weather craziness. He chided me for not wearing blue, so I naturally responded that I flew in from Dallas for the game. He announced to the whole crowd, "Hey, this chick flew in from Dallas!" and I received a round of drunken cheers from everyone. High comedy. I got my Colt Spirit fix when he took his blue-painted arm and rubbed it on mine so I'd be wearing Indy colors. Thanks, dude. We saw him next at our seats (34 rows up, on the 43 yard line) and he pointed to me again and said to Tony, "Did you know she's from Dallas?" Apparently, I'm a bit of a local celebrity, at least according to the blue man at the Colts game. Hey, I'll take what I can get!
(Please forgive the crazy eyes! I don't know what's going on lately!)
